Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) Register

The IGTO undertakes Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for all high privacy risk projects. A project may be considered a ‘high privacy risk project’ if the IGTO reasonably considers that:

…the project involves any new or changed ways of handling personal information that are likely to have a significant impact on the privacy of individuals.

The Australian Government Agencies Privacy Code requires the IGTO to maintain a register of PIAs conducted since 1 July 2018. A version of our register is provided below.

November 2023 CMS Data Migration Project The project was undertaken to implement a new Customer Management System for enhanced document management and reporting purposes.
June 2020 ICT Migration Project The project was undertaken to relocate the IGTO’s IT Infrastructure away from the Department of Treasury’s hosting platform.
