The IGTO undertakes Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for all high privacy risk projects. A project may be considered a ‘high privacy risk project’ if the IGTO reasonably considers that:
… the project involves any new or changed ways of handling personal information that are likely to have a significant impact on the privacy of individuals.
The Australian Government Agencies Privacy Code requires the IGTO to maintain a register of PIAs conducted since 1 July 2018. A version of our register is provided below.
